Athlete Bio
As a kid, I played sports year-round — soccer, basketball, you name it. I was always pushing my body to the limit. After high school, I missed that team environment. Then one day at the gym, a random guy stopped me and said I was wasting my potential — I should be lifting weights. I still don’t know his name, but that single conversation changed my life.
In 2006, he trained me for about a year before telling me I was ready to go solo. I kept training the way he taught me, not realizing lifting would become a lifelong passion.
In 2009, I joined the Army and was deployed to Afghanistan. Training became my outlet. When I returned in 2010, I continued lifting, but without much structure.
In 2014, while stationed at Fort Gordon, I met a couple who competed in bodybuilding. They convinced my wife and me to try it. We went to our first show and were instantly hooked. We competed together later that year.
In 2016, I deployed again while my wife kept competing. I watched her chase her goals and become a world champion. After our first child in 2018, life got busier, but I never stopped training.
In 2021, we moved to Texas. The Army schedule made contest prep difficult, so I focused on consistent training.
Then in 2025, I was stationed in Germany with more autonomy. I reached out to Ryan and said, “Let’s get to work.” After a full year of dieting, we stepped on stage at the OCB No Gear Classic. We came up just short of the pro card, but two weeks later at the Northeast Classic, I earned my ANBF Pro Card and won the Best in Show ring — still my most cherished award.
We didn’t stop there. After a short break, I made my pro debut at Monster Mash, then went back-to-back and earned my OCB Classic Physique Pro Card at the Battle of the Unrivaled.
That wrapped up my 2025 season. Now I’m 20+ weeks into my improvement season, building for whatever comes next. I’m eyeing a full 2028 run, but we’ll see what the Army has in store.
